Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday cancelled the membership of dozens of party workers for violating party policies, said a statement released by the party.
Party workers from four districts, Mianwali, Attock, Narowal and Faisalabad were dismissed and show cause notices issued to them.
Imran accused the workers of violating party policies in the last stage of the local bodies elections held in Punjab province.
He also accused Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of bribing political workers and buying their support.
“Nawaz Sharif only wins elections and maintains power by rigging the vote or buying it," Imran said.
He also said the country will always remember the premier for his dishonest politics.
While talking to Dawn News, senior PTI leader Jahangir Tareen clarified that party members had been expelled for not voting according to party directions in Punjab local body elections.
"Despite clear instructions, these members grouped together and voted for an opposing candidate," Tareen said.
"We will maintain order and discipline in the party," Tareen said, saying the party will act firmly against dissidents.
"We will not compromise on party policy," he said.
Tareen added that those who voted for their personal interest will be kicked out from the party, and said PTI had issued written instructions to its local party leaders that PTI will not support PML-N.
Tareen said the deadline for replies to the show cause notices issued to party members is Monday.
"We will not compromise. PTI is an ideological party, not an ordinary political party. We do not do politics for the sake of politics."

@Qaiar, I think you missed the point. IK did blame his own people. Sacking someone includes blaming them. Horse trading requires two parties someone to buy and someone to sell themselves. IK has sacked the sellers and he is asking NS to do something about buyers.

No offense, but this policy itself is EXACTLY the same thing IK accuses NS of. It forces party members to vote for their own person; that is not democracy, that is dictatorship.

Isn't it one way traffic because horse trading to join PTI is appreciable but join other party is not bearable. How about SMQ didn't he leave PPP before joing PTI and JK came from PML(Q) / PML(F)?. If PTI is a democratic party then when and where the intra-party elections held? Did Imran get the top post by electorate? SMQ? JK? Aleem Khan?

@Humza I would sacrifice such a democracy to avoid being a hypocrite. PTI is not that party which criticizes PMLN for the sake of criticism and then join PMLN's hands to win an election -- something which hypocrites do. IK proved he is not a hypocrite by sacking these workers who got their positions in the name of IK but later betrayed him. Had IK endorsed the support the same critics would have criticized him for being a hypocrite. I can doubt anyone but IK because he may be not making timely decisions at times but he is the only honest leader in Pakistan.

We are not ready for democracy.
The public, who matter will sell their vote for their own interest.
The poor will sell their vote for a meal, and show their loyalty to anyone.
Like yesterday, all those people coming out to support Mr 10% at the airport.
How will this country progress, when deals are made with corrupt politicians, and the rich.
I have come to a conclusion that this country will run as it been doing for the last 69 years .

This trend among the PTI party members is really ominous. It shows that there is a real dearth of selfless people. All that most of those entering politics are after is pelf and power.
Also, the PTI party members and supporters may be getting disenchanted with Imran Khan's agitational politics. Imran Khan should take stock of his performance in the parliament during the last three and a half years. His attendance in parliament is worse than Nawaz Sharif's - barely five percent.

@PHILOSOPHER (FROM JAPAN) None of the people joining PTI from other parties did so while being publicly elected on any forum. If someone is elected on a party ticket, they get the votes because of the party so the party has every right and reason to ask questions.

IK needs to decide he wants democracy within PTI or one man rule and keep firing people without show cause or any explanation?Acceptance of another view (managing disagreement) is not in his DNA. PTI is not an army unit it is a political party and people will have different views and sometimes extreme and opposite. He lead the cricket team like that like a military dictator and now wants to run the party like that. Will he run the country of 120 million people also like a cricket team?

PTI Chairman Imran Khan issued Show Cause notice to its Senior Vice President Northern Punjab "Malik Sohail Kamaryal" for not supporting PML(Q) candidate for District Chairman Attock. PTI leadership had decided to support PML(Q).
Malik Sohail Kamaryal was one of the first political leader of Attock who joined PTI at that time when practically PTI was Zero in District Attock.
"Malik Sohail Kamaryal" had personal issues with PML(Q) Leadership in Attock as he was beaten by PLM(Q) workers on order of PML (Q) leadership when he was Naib Nazim Attock, so he refused to support PML(Q) candidate and instead supported PML(N) candidate in current District Chairman elections.
Question :: If you have been humiliated by a person and you refuse to support him and instead oppose him in election and you party leader issues Show Cause notice to you, will it be fair????
