Five killed, 14 injured in D. I. Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 19: Five persons including a police constable were killed and 14 others injured in three different incidents here on Thursday.

Police constable Ameer Abdullah of the Panyala police station was killed and his four companions were injured when a person opened fire on them.

In another incident, three friends Nazakat s/o Saeed, Haibat s/o Haji Shafi and Safdar s/o Ashraf were killed when their car fell into the Chashma Right Bank Canal on the DIKhan-Zoad road near Khuti village.

In the third incident a proclaimed offender Akhtar Munir alias Paro was shot dead in a police encounter in village Bahadari.

Meanwhile, a pick-up (BK3234) turned turtle near DIK-Darya Khan bridge. 10 persons were injured in the accident.
