KP govt restores hacked web portal

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has restored its web portal after it was hacked and re-established operations through experts of Information Technology Department.

The hacker was also identified while sites managed by the KP government are under scanning.

Restoration operation was completed in a short time as per standard procedures, said a press release issued by the IT Department here Thursday.

It said that the hacker just replaced a picture on the home page of KP portal without any damage to data. The major web portals are kept under observation for the time being. The statement added that security mechanism had restricted the hacker to only minor defacement.
