KARACHI: Karachi blind cricket team beat Quetta by six wickets to win the Unity T20 Cup for the Blind here on Tuesday.

Quetta, winning the toss, elected to bat first and scored 133 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Bismillah Khan was top scorer with 45. For Karachi, Shahzad Iqbal took three wickets.

In reply, the Karachi team achieved the target in the 14th over after losing just four wickets. The top scorer for Karachi was Murad Khan who made a fluent 85 off just forty balls.

In B one category of the event, Nisar Awan (Karachi) B-two category Bismillah Khan (Quetta) while in B-three category Ayub Khan (Karachi) were adjudged as Man of the Tournament, while Murad Khan won Man of the Final honour.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest and member of the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council Asif Azeem said that visually impaired people belonged to an important segment of our society and God has gifted them many fantastic abilities.

He urged upon the private sector to realize its responsibility and help the government by contributing healthy sponsorship for the promotion of sports.
