Continuing his tirade against the government, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said he will be contesting in the 2018 general elections and is confident that he will win.
"I will become the next prime minister of Pakistan," Bilawal said addressing party workers in Lahore on Saturday.
Criticising Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal said the premier had failed to fulfil his duties to the country and that he should now consider packing up. Bilawal and his supporters then began to chant slogans of "Go Nawaz, go".
"Even after serving in the position three times, if he (Nawaz) isn't ready to do his job, I'll do it. I'm ready to do it," the 28-year-old PPP chairman said, adding that he will run on his slain mother's seat in the 2018 election.
"Politics is jihaad for us," the party chief added. "We will not drag it through the dirt," he said, claiming that government offices across all provinces will hoist the PPP's flag after the 2018 general election.
Bilawal said the government had failed to implement the National Action Plan (NAP) and that it was time for the government to admit to its failures.

Bilawal has done nothing to clean PPP from corruption. He had the time and the opportunity. Corruption is the main agenda of many - if not all - PPP members. Just see the degree of corruption in the present Sind Government.

Pakistan doesn't have the luxury of political or social experiments. It is already decades behind in terms of human development, education, industrial capacity, infant mortality, life-expectancy of adults, scientific and technological innovation and integration. For someone like Bilawal, who has no real life experience or even education in any of these critical fields, does not inspire much confidence in his ability to change the course of the country is on now - let alone wait for him to fail!

Before he entitles himself to any tall claims, the question would be what good has come in Sind where PPP governs. Corruption is as rampant if not more like in any other part of the country. Start from home; education, commerce, infrastructure from road, bridges to trash removal and everything else are in a shambles. Just put the house in order in the province where you are governing and then you may talk about the country. Grand legacy of the Shaheed mother or grandfather alone would lead you nowhere.

Too early to make such statements before repairing the damage PPP team caused to party during their past government. Sindh appeares divided into traditional rural without active civil society and urban with active one. Political culture of Pakistan likely suggests unpredictable results with PPP struggling against incumbent PML-N and PTI. Results will likely be mixed even to formca coalitica government. Image rebuilding, hence forming a new visionary team by retiring the old, will be practically costly multi-dimensionally. PPP also needs a new manifesto. Thus, projection for Bilawal as PM in 2018 at appears an overestimation.

Pakistan needs seasoned hands, mature heads and self-less dedicated leaders who care for the people and live in the country - not those who show up every few years to make a few pathetic speeches to earn votes and disappear thereafter in their luxurious abode in Dubai or London.

Bilawal Bhutto says he will be Pakistan's PM in 2018? That is a pie in the sky, but it can become reality: If Bilawal Bhutto declares "zero tolerance" on corruption, starting from his own party. Some of his party workers will oppose accountability, but they must not stop him from doing his duty if he is a national leader.
He must show maturity in dealing with other political parties, using language which is strong but dignified. He must make Sindh a model of good governance, with merit and justice for all. Surely, if he does this then he will be supported by all Pakistanis who will elect him next as the Prime Minister.

The minimum age in the constitution is 45 for the President, 25 for members of Parliament, 30 for members of the Senate and 35 for provincial Governors. There is no minimum age mentioned for the Prime Minister. Since the Prime Minister is a member of the Parliament, the age of 25 is only what is needed to qualify and Bilawal meets that. I don't support the PPP or Bilawal.

People who are laughing at him will be the one voting for him. It is possible that Bilawal becomes our PM because we have voted for his family in previous elections and were quite successful. However, if Nawaz walks off from the Panama case without any recourse of his crimes and we elect Bilawal or Nawaz again in the next election then this will prove that the people of Pakistan are corrupt on an individual level. There's no point in blaming the leaders when we the voters are corrupt.

Just a few week back a news broke out from larkana that approx 20 HIV positive patient were diagnosed in a dialysis unit. Now this is the health care system which has been given by these politician to this country. What is level of education in garhi khuda buksh? Lowest among all the districts in pakistan!!! The high command of PPP almost all of them is brought up and educated abroad but may I ask why their worker and constituency are kept backward.

If he is have any honesty then start from his home start cleaning bad peoples from his party and his sindh govt. PPP is a party of rural elite, who wish to stay in power to protect and enhance their assets. Within Sindh and looking at what they've done to Karachi, they should never be given the reigns of the country other wise they will change it to a huge garbage dump. He did not say how he will become the next PM of Pakistan in 2018. The party has lost its attraction to people and in the last elections it was defeated badly in all provinces except Sindh province even though his father was president of Pakistan and the election were held under PPP government. Its very easy to make promises but very hard to deliver. The PPP had no vision, no solution to peoples problems and absolutely no strategy to revive the economy. I think PPP is already a dead horse and there is no chance of its revival. It may win again in Sindh but no chance in any other provinces but nothing wrong in day dreaming. People have become lot smarter over the decades and they can see what PPP has done for them which is absolutely nothing except wide spread corruption at the highest level.

@Syed F. Hussaini . ZA Bhutto also promised Roti, kapra and makan for every Pakistani. Most of the people who believed him and voted for him have passed away waiting for the promise to come true which was never fulfilled.Talk is easy but delivering a promise is hard and needs lot resources which country does not have. ZAB knew he could not keep that promise which required billions of dollars every year but the false promise got him the votes from the poor and uneducated. Nothing is beyond politicians to get to the top. In the end he lost everything. I am wondering was it worth it to seek the highest job and lose the life.
