HYDERABAD, Dec 16: The Market police arrested two policemen and registered a case against them after an under-trial prisoner escaped from the Hyderabad Civil Hospital’s orthopaedic ward.

The prisoner, Mohammad Luqman, accused in four cases of murder and arms ordinance registered at Faridabad and Mehar police stations, had been sent to the hospital for check up of his hand which had developed pus.

The arrested policemen, who were deployed at the hospital, were identified as head constable Bakht Ali and constable Aijaz Ali. They were remanded in judicial custody.

SHC: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Monday issued notices to the DCO and revenue EDO, Badin, vice-chancellor, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, and others on a constitutional petition filed by a student and his father.

The LUMHS student, Umair Razzak, and his father, Abdul Razzak, had challenged the cancellation of his domicile and permanent residence certificate.

Umair was selected on merit for admission to first professional MBBS at the LUMHS and he deposited his fees on Nov 25 on domicile of Badin.

Later, the district coordination officers of Badin announced the cancellation of his domicile.
