Roadside blast on FC vehicle kills three security personnel in Peshawar

At least three Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel were killed and seven others were injured on Tuesday when a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) blast occurred near their vehicle in Bashirabad area of Peshawar.

Senior Superintendent Police Operations Ejaz Khan said that FC personnel were on routine patrol near Bashirabad when their vehicle was targeted with a remote controlled explosive device.

Ejaz Khan added that the bodies of deceased and the injured were transferred to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar.

"Seven injured and three dead were received by accident and emergency unit of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) and deceased have been identified as Hanif Jamal, Yasirullah Khan and Khalid Zaid," said the spokesman of LRH.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned terrorist attack on FC personnel in Peshawar and expressed deep grief over the loss of valuable lives.

“These cowardly attacks cannot shatter our unflinching resolve to eliminate terrorism and extremism from our motherland,” said a statement released by PM House, while quoting the Prime Minister.
