Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif on Tuesday confirmed the death sentences awarded to another 10 "hardcore terrorists," said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR statement said that the convicts were "involved in heinous offences related to terrorism, including killing of innocent civilians, slaughtering of Captain Junaid Khan, Captain Najam Riaz Raja, Naik Shahid Rasool and Lance Naik Shakeel Ahmed of Special Services Group (SSG)."

They planned and executed attacks on armed forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) of Pakistan which resulted in deaths and injuries to several soldiers, said the ISPR.

ISPR provided the following details for each convict

Hanifa S/O Umar Zareen: The convict was an active member of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He was involved in kidnapping and slaughtering of Captain Junaid Khan, Captain Najam Riaz Raja, Naik Shahid Rasool and Lance Naik Shakeel Ahmed. He was also found in possession of explosives. The convict admitted his offences before a magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence.

Tirah Gul s/o Khan and Muhammad Wali s/o Faulad Khan: These two convicts were active member of banned Lashkar-e-Islam (LI). They were involved in attacking LAEs and armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of Hawaldar Noor Mast, Naik Farman Ali, Naik Shabbir Akhtar, Sepoy Humayun, Sepoy Fakhar Alam, Sepoy Ismail and injuries to many other soldiers.

These convicts admitted their offences before a magistrate and the trial court and were awarded death sentences.

Khaista Muhammad s/o Abdul Jalil: The convict was an active member of TTP. He was involved in attacking armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of Hawaldar Mohammad Maqsood, Sepoy Rashid Ali, Sepoy Mohammad Waseem and injuries to another soldier. He was also involved in destruction of Government Girls Primary School Zangi and a PTCL Tower.

The convict was found in possession of explosives. He admitted his offences before a magistrate and the trail court before he was awarded death sentence.

Ali Rehman s/o Habibur Rehman, Fazal Ali s/o Fazal Wahid and Mohammad Ali s/o Abdul Rehman: These three convicts were also active members of TTP. They were involved in attacking LEAS and armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of Hawaldar Munir Ahmed and Sepoy Sajid Khan and injuries to several others.

They were also found in possession of weapons and explosives. These convicts admitted their offences before a magistrate and the trial court. They were awarded death sentences.

Nisar Ali s/o Damsaz Khan: The convict was an active member of TTP. He was involved in attacking LEAs which resulted in death of Sepoy Fazal Malik and injuries to several soldiers of Frontier Constabulary (FC) and police. The convict was found in possession of arms. He admitted his offences before a magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence.

Khial Jan s/o Sayel Jan: The convict was an active member of LI and was involved in attacking LEAs which resulted in death of Civilian Abdullah, Khyber Khasadar soldier Sameed Khan and injuries to several other soldiers.

He admitted his offence before a magistrate and the trial court and was awarded death sentence.

Payo Jan s/o Asal Jan: The convict was an active member of LI. He was involved in attacking armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of Sepoy Qasim Raza. He also admitted his offence before a magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence.
