Obstructing China's Growth. The Russians want an understanding with the USA so that they may divert their attention to the production of more consumer goods.They also want a larger output for distribution in the form of trade and aid to underdeveloped countries of Asia and Africa.This makes it all the more necessary for West,especially the USA to have "clearly defined objectives" and pursue them relentlessly. And the main objective and the single meeting point for Russia and USA is how to obstruct China's trade & commerce thereby putting strong pressure on her growing economy. If Russia & USA are successful in achieving their objective, it will affect the viability of CPEC. Pakistan should be on guard.

Russia is playing a double game here. On one side she has shown complete support for China, India and also interested to strengthen the ties with Pakistan, and on the other side she is keen to have normal relations with USA. Tough game to play though.
