CHIBA (Japan): Pakistan’s tennis pair of Ahmed Ehtisham and Ibrahim Iltifat went down fighting against the Cambodian pair of Kann Sophorn and Orn Sambath in the first round of men’s doubles event at the eighth Asian Soft Tennis Championship here from Nov 16-21.
In the hard fought match, the Pakistani players took lead in the initial stage but could not sustain it against their experienced Cambodian opponents, and finally lost 5-3.
The chilly weather and rain at the venue also created problems for the Pakistan pair but they still put up a decent fight.
On Sunday morning, Pakistan play against Cambodia once again in the team event.
