HYDERABAD, Jan 1: A noted Sindhi writer and dean, faculty of Arts, University of Sindh, Kazi Khadim has said that Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai was symbol of Sindh and it was quite natural for every Sindhi to feel the existence of the mystic poet in every fibre of his being.

He was talking to a gathering at the Institute of Modern Sciences and Arts (IMSA) on the devotional poetry of Shah.

He said that the devotional poetry of Shah had two objectives: to ask for blessing and to bless others.

Speaking on the occasion, a devoted follower of Shah and an expert on his poetry, Syed Saleh Mohammad Shah, who is also a renowned radio broadcaster, said that Shah’s matchless poetry had universal appeal.

Mr Farooq Azam Memon said that devotion was the best form of worship and it came from the core of Shah’s heart.

He said Shah had prayed not only for himself and Sindh but also for the entire humanity.
