Going to school is great, but on this day, I was pleased that the academic year had come to an end, finally. It was the end of year party that day and my happiness knew no bounds.

It had been a tough, perhaps the toughest, year of my schooling and I really felt light-hearted now that it was over. The burden of the exams had completely vanished. Prior to this, my heart was pounding due to the stress of the final exams. I had sacrificed my sleep constantly, troubled my brain with so much to remember and stayed busy for half a month. It was not really what I wanted and felt trapped in a spider’s web unable to get free.

Now after weeks, that day I felt so light early in the morning, it was going to be a great day! In just a while, the party would start and I would be enjoying it with my friends in school.

As soon as I reached school, I was moved by a sight I had never seen. The school was clean, tidy and sparkling. The sun was shining brightly and all the students were looking so prim and fresh. The trees were content, and their leaves soaring with happiness. The psychedelic colours of the clothes worn were truly attractive.

My friends and I spent the entire day having fun — eating, playing, having fun and even disturbing others! Time moved so soon and suddenly it was time for to go home.

Instead of home-sickness, we felt “school-sickness”, sad that we would not be seeing our school or friends for the next two months or more. But it was a relaxing and memorable day that I will cherish forever.
