KARACHI: Three suspected militants were killed in a shootout with Rangers here on Tuesday.

Officials said Rangers conducted a raid in Ittehad Town on information about the presence there of some militants and criminal elements.

“The Rangers personnel cordoned off the area,” said a spokesman for the paramilitary force. “The armed men in the hideout attacked personnel of our team. The attack led to retaliation from Rangers, which triggered an exchange of gunfire. During the encounter, three militants were killed.”

He said Rangers had also seized arms and explosives from the hideout.
