Airport help desks

Published October 23, 2016

THE Federal Ombudsman has established a one-window facilitation desk at almost all major airports. These desks comprise more than 10 agencies, including Nadra, FIA, CAA, ASF, etc., led by the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation.

The purpose of these desks is to provide every facility to passengers and sort out their problems. The raison d’etre for the establishment for these desks is also to receive complaints of overseas Pakistanis and redress them quickly.

Whenever a complaint is received against any agency or airline, a fax is sent to the Ombudsman, Islamabad. An officer of the Ombudsman is available to act on the complaint. The officer sends the complaint to the agency concerned or department and seeks a reply without delay and takes action if the department proves guilty.

I am working at the OPF at Sialkot airport. We receive very few complaints from passengers because they are not aware of this facility. Passengers do not have confidence that there will be action on complaints.

In the public interest, I would like to inform the readers that Federal Ombudsman has established one-window facilitation desks on all important airports for lodging complaints.
