NEW DELHI: Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday that Pakistan should close down what he termed a “factory of terrorism”, while offering India’s help to Islamabad in fighting terrorists.
He told a regional editors’ conference in Chandigarh that India had nothing against the people of Pakistan, but it was the state that had adopted terrorism as its policy.
“That is the reason it has been isolated not only in South Asia, but also in the world. India is ready to help Pakistan in taking action against terrorists in Pakistan. But for that Islamabad should close down ‘factory of terrorism’. This will open vistas of development and help in ensuring peace in South Asia,” Mr Singh said.
Referring to India’s claim of carrying out surgical strikes along the Line of Control against alleged terrorist launch pads, Mr Singh said it was a pre-emptive action and “India does not harbour any ill-will against the people of Pakistan”.
Mr Singh again said his government had decided to seal the border with Pakistan with physical and non-physical barriers by December 2018.
There is about 181.85km stretch in which construction of physical barriers is not feasible due to geographic constraints like riverine, low-lying, creek and marshy areas. In this stretch, advance technology solutions, including cameras, sensors, radars and lasers, will be deployed.
The Indian Border Security Force was testing the available technologies through pilot projects in Jammu, Punjab and Gujarat, the minister said.
“Pakistan’s entire establishment is engaged in fuelling terrorism in India and that’s why the management of areas along the Indo-Pak border has become a challenging task... But those who rear snakes should know they would bite them,” he said.
“If its intentions remain clear, India can help Pakistan carry out an anti-terror campaign, including (in Azad Kashmir). If Pakistan wishes it can seek our help and India is ready to help it... But its intentions are not clear,” Mr Singh said.
“This country shelters not just terrorists. It nurtures a mindset... that loudly proclaims that terrorism is justified for political gains.”

We love to use the term "brothers" but we live like the worst of enemies, how many wars have both countries fought, how many people killed on both sides? @Akil Akhtar I stay close to a very well known hospital in Chennai. I have seen many Pakistani patients and families here in Chennai come for treatment.
In Bangalore Pakistani patients have been funded by crowd sourcing too.
In Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi hospitals there are Pakistani, Afghan, Bangladeshi, Nepali patients coming for treatment. And not a single doctor or politician has said no to their treatment.
Pakistani patients found no issues in renting a house here. 95% Indians do not have animosity with Pakistanis.

@Ishfaq bughio - There is no official ban by the govt on cricket or on artists. Its the individual bodies that are making these decisions and these are autonomous bodies not owned by the govt.
Regarding visa policy - lets accept the fact that terrorism has led to scepticism. Its more of a security concern than anything else. I think in many other countries getting Visa is difficult with a Pakistani passport or for that matter with an Indian passport as well in some cases. It doesnt mean that the people/govt of that country hates people of the other country.

Positive point is that India want to work with Pakistan to eliminate terrorism but that will be only achieved if both countries work together with tolerance and mutual trust and for that the governments of both countries have to work together along with their, if possible military intelligence agencies. In addition the core Kashmir problem to be solved. People of both countries are liking each other (especially NRPs and NRIs) and the people who are in India and Pakistan will too want same if will be provided opportunity to have close contact with each other as the basic problems of us are same.

This demand of Pak unfortuantely cannot be met in this modern world as no nation will allow the land it has to be taken away whatever the historical significance is. So the only solution is to accept the LOC as international border and making Kashmiri people travel, work and trade freely across the border.
India cannot allow this demography to be changed as it will unravel and increase the demands from many other areas and people. Any change of demography will change the subcontinent as we know today.

The feeling is mutual in Pak. The problem is the Indian leadership and not the Indian people because the majority of people from both countries want peace. If India is really serious then it should start the dialogue with Pak immediately without any preconditions to resolve all issues including J&K.
The people of both countries deserve peace and the the leadership of both countries owe it to its people.

China is hell-bent toward pak due to its business interests and confrontation with usa in south china sea. Russia is hell-bent towards china due to 400 billion gas deal. Now just go back and add how many Pakistani's lost their lives in the last six months alone in the last 2 years due to terrorists, the answer just might surprise you. Its true some folks support some terrorist organizations, but to term it a factory is irresponsible and unfair. We have almost 190 Million people in Pakistan, 99% do not support or agree with the ideology and thinking behind terrorism, just like the good people of India, Pakistani people too want peace.

My son is an university students. He has friendship with thousands of Pakistani students. What enmity can we have with those who reside in Pakistan. They are as good or bad as we are. Pakistan administration needs to clean their hands.

@ART KP You need to understand that it is NOT the govt of India that has forced Pak actors to leave. It was because of the threats by a fringe party known as MNS. Fawad Kahan's movie will be releasing all over India soon except Mumbai where the MNS is active.
