Royal Air Force's Red Arrows arrive in Karachi, perform aerobatics

KARACHI: United Kingdom’s renowned aerobatic team Red Arrows arrived in the country on Tuesday, said a statement released by the Pakistan Air Force.

The aerobatic team, led by Squadron Leader David of the Royal Air Force (RAF), performed aerobatics over the skies of the metropolis and attracted a large number of spectators, added the statement.

The Red Arrows departed from UK’s Lincolnshire on September 29 and would be making eleven stops, while covering almost eight thousand miles to reach their final destination at Zhuhai, China.

The aerobatic team will participate in the upcoming Zhuhai International Air Show, slated to run from November 1 to November 6. The team flies the Hawk aircraft.

The team were received by Air Officer Commanding Southern Air Command Air Vice Marshal Salman Ahsan Bukhari and Steve Crossman, deputy head of the UK mission in Pakistan.

Red Arrows were established in 1964, and since then the RAF aerobatics team have performed more than 4,000 times across the globe.

Excellent its a good show for the locals....i would advise if their is a air show than every effort should be made to attend....these could become a regular for locals and is often good for family and kids..... Another triumph for Pakistan to show its appreciation of talent across the globe. Happy population is often a productive one.... :-)

And India says isolated Pakistan? what a show of international teams on Pak Land. Red Aeros, Russian Pakistan mutual exercise, active Chinese involvement in different development project like CPEC. An eye opener to Indian claim.

The people of Pakistan warmly welcome the Royal Air Force aerobatic team, "Red Arrows". Pakistan Air Force history goes back to the Royal Air Force at the time of independence in 1947. The RAF had provided aircraft, organization and training. PAF's first four Air Chiefs were British officers who laid the foundation, making the PAF second to none in the world. Though we wish instead of small Hawk aircraft, Red Arrows had bigger jets. Nevertheless, their performance is spectacular.
