Royal Air Force's Red Arrows arrive in Karachi, perform aerobatics

KARACHI: United Kingdom’s renowned aerobatic team Red Arrows arrived in the country on Tuesday, said a statement released by the Pakistan Air Force.

The aerobatic team, led by Squadron Leader David of the Royal Air Force (RAF), performed aerobatics over the skies of the metropolis and attracted a large number of spectators, added the statement.

The Red Arrows departed from UK’s Lincolnshire on September 29 and would be making eleven stops, while covering almost eight thousand miles to reach their final destination at Zhuhai, China.

The aerobatic team will participate in the upcoming Zhuhai International Air Show, slated to run from November 1 to November 6. The team flies the Hawk aircraft.

The team were received by Air Officer Commanding Southern Air Command Air Vice Marshal Salman Ahsan Bukhari and Steve Crossman, deputy head of the UK mission in Pakistan.

Red Arrows were established in 1964, and since then the RAF aerobatics team have performed more than 4,000 times across the globe.
