SUKKUR: A man surrendered himself before the Saddar police of Jacobabad district on Monday and confessed to have shot dead his wife and her friend for honour.

Saleem Rind told the police that Ali Hassan Jakhrani aka Jaro Jakhrani, 31, had been frequenting his farmlands in Dost Ali village for about a month without anything to do with him or his family which raised suspicion about his intentions. He said his mother once alerted him when she noticed his wife, Zainab Rind, meeting Jaro Jakhrani in the fields. He said he spied on them and found the hint about their indecent relationship true. He said he warned Jaro against such meetings any more but on Monday they again had a date in the fields. He told the police that he killed them with his pistol and took their bodies to a place near the bypass to dump them.

The police took the murder weapon into custody and collected the two bodies from the specified place.

A post-mortem examination was performed at the Jacobabad Civil Hospital before the bodies were handed over to the heirs.

A double-murder case was registered against Salim Rind and an investigation was started, the police said.
