PML-QA for culture of tolerance

Published January 1, 2002

ISLAMABAD, Dec 31: Mohammad Siddiq Butt, the general secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-i-Azam Group (PML-QA), has emphasized the need for the development of a culture of tolerance in the country.

Mr Butt in a statement on Monday called upon the countrymen to bury all religious and sectarian differences for the sake of peace and tranquillity in the country. “Unity is our strength,” he stressed.

He observed that economic recession, terrorism and war hysteria were the main challenges facing the country but reposed full confidence in the leadership of President Gen Pervez Musharraf for solution of these problems. The people should fully support President Musharraf to ensure a bright and strong Pakistan, he said.

Mr Butt said the president’s visits to countries like the US and China indicated that the government’s foreign policy was successful.—Reporter
