KARACHI: Pakistan discard Fawad Alam was named on Thursday to the lead PCB Patron’s XI in a three-day day/night fixture against the West Indies in Sharjah from Oct 7.

Ahmed Shehzad was also a notable inclusion in the 13-man squad along with leg-spinners Shahzaib Ahmed Khan and Mohammad Irfan, while out-of-favour left-arm paceman Jun­aid Khan has been provided to stake claims for the Pakistan squad for the three-match Test series against Jason Holder’s men.

The National selection committee, headed by Inzamam-ul-Haq, has named current Test players Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Imran Khan in the squad along with gangling speedster Ahmed Jamal.

The warm-up game at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium will start at 3:30pm UAE time with a 30-minute break for tea at 5:30 before the second session commences at 6:00pm. After another 30-minute interval for dinner, the last session of play would begin at 8:30pm.
