Man kills wife over Karo-kari

JACOBABAD, Dec 8: A man, Karamullah Jafri, killed his wife, Sughar Khatoon, 25, on the pretext of Karo-kari in the Ghauspur police station jurisdiction on Sunday night.

The woman was asleep when her husband axed her to death.

No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

HOSTAGE: The deputy general manager, telephones, Akhlaq Hussain Shah, was made hostage at his office here on Monday by PTCL employees after he abused a suspended peon who entered the office.

A PTCL employee, Rasool Bux, wanted to withdraw his GP fund but the staff at the office of the deputy general manager demanded commission from him.

A large number of PTCL employees surrounded the DGM office and made him hostage.

The employees ended their protest after they were given an assurance that their demands would be accepted.
