Police courage

Published September 26, 2016

THE guard dies but never surrenders. That is what the police officials fighting terrorists have adopted as their motto. The latest supreme sacrifice of constables Junaid, Azam and Ishtiaq was the result of the spirit not to surrender in the face of the gravest danger in Mardan district courts when they were attacked with hand grenades.

Despite getting injured they stood their ground and shot the suicide bomber before the culprit could enter the court premises and cause massive casualties. These brave Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police constables have made the police officers proud.

We admire their courage and sense of duty. They gave their lives to save many lives. This should be the hallmark of a true policeman. They are our national heroes.

In another terrorist attack at Warsak Garrison Christian Colony, the police team deserves our tribute. Led by Sub-Inspector Ijaz, the police party foiled the evil designs of the terrorists and exchanged gunfire, gaining enough time for the residents to rush to a secure place.

Constable Sajjad received a bullet in his arm during the exchange of fire. Such dedication and professionalism will provide inspiration for the police forces all over the country to combat terrorism with courage.
