LAHORE: Punjab University’s administration and teachers, in a meeting on Saturday, unanimously passed a resolution, expressing solidarity with the Kashmiris and condemning Indian atrocities in held Kashmir.

The participants said India was fanning terrorism in the region as its forces were violating rights of Kashmiris.

Earlier, the meeting was briefed that from January 1989 to October 2015, Indian forces had killed 94,273 Kashmiris and arrested 131,212 civilians. Also, 10,159 rape cases were reported in India-held Kashmir. In some cases, the bodies of women were cut into pieces and dissolved in acid. The meeting demanded that the resolutions of the United Nation be implemented.

It said Indian prime minister Narendra Damodardas Modi was involved in the killing of innocent Muslims and for those reasons he had been denied US visa because the US had proof of his involvement in the killings.

They also vowed to contact the officials of the United Nations. Earlier, heads of all teaching and non-teaching departments participated in a meeting and reviewed security arrangements.
