ISLAMABAD: Weekly inflation for combined income group witnessed a slight decline of 0.43 per cent for the week ended on Sept 22 over the preceding week.

The weekly inflation, mea­sured through the Sensitive Price Index (SPI), witnessed the downward trend after consecutive increase in the past two weeks, showed Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data on Friday.

The price of 13 items declined, while eight items witnessed an increase during the week.

For the lowest income group earning up to Rs8,000, the SPI witnessed a decline of 0.38pc over the previous week, while for the top income group (Rs35,000 and above) it was down by 0.43pc.

The price of wheat went up by 0.73pc, pulse gram (washed) 0.57pc, wheat flour 0.35pc, vegetable ghee (loose) 0.23pc, sugar 0.18pc, gur 0.15pc, powdered milk 0.15pc. The price of firewood increased by 0.04pc.

Tomatoes price fall 21.60pc, chicken 3.54pc, ban­anas 3.31pc, egg 1.71pc, pulse mash 1.26pc, onions 1.20pc, potatoes 1.13pc, garlic 1.10pc, rice basmati (broken) 0.98pc, pulse moong (washed) 0.47pc, red chilly powder (loose), 0.47pc and pulse masoor (washed) 0.35pc. The price of 11kg LPG cylinder eased by 1.11pc.
