KARACHI: Cricket promoter and owner of Quetta Gladiators Nadeem Omar has announced a handsome cash award of Rs500,000 each for Karachi Whites and Karachi Blues teams for reaching the National T20 Cup final on Friday.

Karachi Whites beat defending champion Peshawar in the first semifinal while Karachi Blues beat Lahore Whites in the second semifinal to make history.

In a message to the winning teams, Nadeem praised the players for showing splendid performance in the prestigious tournament and said it is indeed an honour for Karachi cricket to see both its teams making the final after a long time. “I have my heart in Karachi cricket and am truly thrilled to see Whites and Blues reaching the National T20 Cup final which is a matter of pride for all cricket lovers indeed,” said Nadeem in a statement here. “As a token of my appreciation for the players of both the teams, I am announcing these cash awards to recognise their performance as well as to provide them an incentive to keep up the good work and excel in the game.”

Cricket organiser Azam Khan and other officials of Karachi cricket have also lauded the brilliant show of Karachi Whites and Karachi Blues who beat all the top teams in the tournament to reach the finals.
