BEIJING, Dec 5: China has decided to hold four-nation men’s club hockey tournament early next year.

The teams to be invited are Pakistan, South Korea and Australia, besides the host China. It will be a club-level tournament. “We are expecting a club-level team from Pakistan,” sources said.

Invitation would be conveyed to the Pakistani side as soon as the time-schedule of the tounament is finalized.

The newly established Hockey Club is planning to introduce the game in the major cities as well as at the colleges and universities’ levels.

To introduce advanced training methods and playing skills, some Chinese provincial teams have hired coaches from abroad, including Pakistan and South Korea, where field hockey is a national sport.—APP
