QUETTA: Suspected militants on Monday killed two police officials and a levies personnel in Mastung district of Balochistan.

"Armed men opened fire and killed an assistant sub inspector Abdullah along with his son in the Masjid road area of the city," said a senior police official.

The slain police officer's son was also serving as constable in the police department.

The assailants sped away on their motorcycle after the attack.

The bodies were shifted to district headquarter hospital Mastung, where a large number of relatives, family members and friends of the slain police officer arrived.

In a separate incident, gunmen opened fire and killed a levies personnel in the Kandao area of Mastung.

"The levies personnel was on his way home when attacked by unknown armed men," police said.

The body was later shifted to district hospital Mastung.

Police and levies personnel reached the spot to investigate the incident.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the killings.

Mastung is a troubled district, where militants have been targeting security officials and police for more than a decade.
