KALAYA: About 210 families of internally displaced persons reached their home towns in Upper Orakzai Agency from different areas of the country here on Friday.

According to a statement issued from Frontier Corps Headquarters, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10,000 families of Akhel, Mullakhel, and Alikhel tribes would return to Orakzai Agency in the current phase from Sept 1 to Oct 14.

Sector Commander South-West, Brig Imran Haider Sherazi visited IDPs centre at Shahokhel where he inspected arrangements for the returning displaced families. He expressed satisfaction on the arrangements made for them. Security forces and civil administration officials were also present on the occasion.

Brig Sherazi said peace had been restored and the government writ established in Orakzai Agency due to the efforts of security forces, political administration and tribal people. He hailed the sacrifices rendered by tribal people in protecting frontiers of the motherland. He claimed that the backbone of terrorists had been broken and now they could not regroup. The elders of returning IDPs appreciated the arrangements made by the government and paid homage to security personnel for restoring peace in the tribal area.
