FAISALABAD, Dec 4: A brother of a convict has alleged that the Faisalabad Central Jail inmates were being tortured, harassed and victimized by the superintendent and other staff.

In an SOS message sent to the Punjab governor and IG Prisons, Muhammad Umar has alleged that the inmates who refuse to grease the jail officials’ palm were tortured mercilessly at the behest of Superintendent Nasir Mahmood Warraich in the barracks as well as in the open.

He alleged that the jail doctor was also in league with the prison staff. He said that his brother Muhammad Nawan was undergoing imprisonment in the jail and was being tortured by the prison staff.
