PESHAWAR, Dec 4: The city district council session was adjourned on Thursday without completing the agenda, because of lack of quorum.

When the proceedings started, acting convener Fazl Rauf announced that the quorum was incomplete and adjourned the session indefinitely.

Till noon, 20 of the 124 members had arrived.

On Wednesday also the proceedings were adjourned because of lack of quorum. Under the rules, 51 per cent attendance is required for the proceedings.

The pressure group led by Arbab Mohammad Tariq protested against the decision and accused District Nazim Azam Afridi of trying to block discussion on important issues, specially the law and order situation.
