KARACHI, Dec 31: The new academic session at the University of Karachi will commence on January 1.

After completion of admissions to Honours and Masters classes and semester break, the teaching at the campus for the new comers and older ones will start from Tuesday, said university sources.

About 5,000 students have been admitted to Honours, Masters classes at different faculties, while admissions to B. Pharmacy classes are yet to be finalized.

A senior KU official said admissions under open merit and through the entry tests had been completed, but the left-overs candidates, whose names were included in the merit lists, could be entertained after getting approval from the competent authorities, provided the candidates managed to convince the authorities regarding delay in submission of fees within the period stipulated for the purpose.

EXAMINERS’ MEETING: The University of Karachi has announced that a meeting of head examiners, internals and externals, for the forthcoming practical examinations of B.Sc (Pass) Part-I&II Chemistry would be held on Jan 5, at the Department of Chemistry, adds PPI.

The same meeting for practical examinations of B.Sc (Pass) would be held on Jan 5, at 10.30am at the Zoology Department, while the meeting of Statistics’ officials would be held on the same day at the Department of Statistics at 9am.
