Megawati arriving on 13th

ISLAMABAD, Dec 3: Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri will visit Pakistan this month, her first to the country, the foreign ministry said on Wednesday.

“President Megawati will visit from Dec 13 to 17,” foreign ministry spokesman Masood Khan told AFP.

She will meet Gen Pervez Musharraf and senior officials to discuss bilateral ties, economic and trade cooperation, and joint industrial projects, he said.

“Cooperation in the regional and international situation will also be on the agenda,” he said.

The situation in Iraq, to which Pakistan has been asked to send two battalions for a Muslim peacekeeping force, would “invariably” be discussed, he added.
