LAHORE, Dec 3: Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has filed a petition in a civil court praying it to dismiss a case against him by a citizen.

Wasim claimed in his petition that neither the Indian cricket authorities offered him to coach their bowlers, nor he intended to coach them, therefore, he prayed for the dismissal of the petition. Wasim stated that the petition was filed to only get cheap publicity through newspapers.

The great left-arm fast bowler further stated that the petitioner gave him mental torture and also damaged his reputation.Civil Judge Mohammad Anwar Gondal fixed Dec 8 as the next date for hearing.

The petition was filed by Wasim’s lawyers, Fawad Hussain and Faiza Fayyaz.
