MARDAN: Police have arrested two persons for allegedly killing a minor girl after abducting her from Salak Lundkhawar area here some five days ago.

Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Superintendent of Police (operations) Shafiullah Gandapur said officials of Lundkhwar police station had registered an FIR on the complaint of Abdul Latif Khan on last Thursday against unidentified accused for kidnapping his daughter identified as Shab-i-Noor.

Following the FIR, he said SHO Bakhtsheed Khan arrested few suspected persons, and one of them identified as Tahir Badshah admitted during interrogation that he along with another accomplice had killed the six-year-old girl after abducting her.

Mr Gandapur said the police also arrested the other alleged killer identified as Waseem on the identification of Tahir Badshah. He said the accused told police they stuffed the girl’s body in a gunny bag and threw it in Kati-Gari Nullah located in Karkor Baba area. Later, police and local residents recovered the body of girl from the nullah and handed her over to family.

SP Gandapur said the police had been waiting for the medical report to confirm whether the girl had been sexually assaulted.
