KARACHI: Five MQM activists acquitted

KARACHI, Dec 3: The additional district and sessions judge, West, Mohammed Sagheer Rana, acquitted five workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in a murder case.

Accused Arshad, Shahid alias Kala, Ikhlaq alias Khalnaik, Habib alias Kalia and Sohail alias Chingaari were prosecuted for the murder of Arshad alias Munna, a worker of MQM Haqiqi on Sept 27, 2001, within the limits of Orangi Town police.

The judge exonerated the Muttahida men from all charges for want of incriminating evidence against them.

Another party worker, Zubair alias Burger, was declared a proclaimed offender and the judge ordered that the case against him be kept on dormant till his arrest.
