GUJRANWALA, Dec 2: The heirs of the slain judges staged a sit-in outside the Anti-Terrorism Court No 1 on Tuesday when the investigation team could not produce the chargesheet of the Sialkot jail incident accused in court even after four months.
They urged upon the investigators to submit the charge-sheet in court without further delay.
The judge, Syed Iftikhar Husain Shah, took stock of situation and issued show-cause notice to head of an investigation team, DIG Tariq Saleem Dogar (Sheikhupura), Kasur DPO Ghulam Muhammad Kalyar and DSPs Muhammad Younis Butt and Omar Farooq. He directed them to submit the charge-sheet on Dec 5 (Friday).
The investigators pleaded that they could not remove the objections raised on the charge-sheet by the district attorney because they were on special duty.
The court, however, ordered that all the objections to the charge-sheet should be removed till the next date of hearing.
MEDICAL COLLEGE: Corps Commander Lt-Gen Khalid Munir Khan gave final approval of the establishment of a medical college at the District Headquarters Hospital, here
on Tuesday.
The serviceman has twice visited the hospital in a week and discussed the feasibility of setting up the college.
It is learnt that some of the senior officials opposed the establishment of the institute at the DHQ hospital and wanted that a separate building should be selected for it.
After consulting the EDO (health) and other senior medical officers, the corps commander declared the hospital premises suitable for the medical college.
He directed the authorities concerned that the classes here should be started at the earliest.
