11 criminals arrested

HYDERABAD, Dec 2: In the on-going crackdown against criminals launched by the district police, Hyderabad, 11 criminals were arrested who were involved in robberies at various places.

The criminals included those who had committed a robbery in the shop of Amit Thadhani, son of the Regional Manager, Dawn, L.S. Thadhani, and a theft at the house of a judge.

Incriminating evidence was recovered from their possession, including weapons and robbed goods.

Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, the SP, city, Mujahid Akbar, said that the SHO, Baldia police station, during patrolling arrested two armed suspects from the gate of the Zubaida Girls College at 8:30pm on Dec 1. They were identified as Nadeem Bux and Habibur Rehman. They were taken to the Baldia police station and separate FIRs were registered against them under the Arms Ordinance.

He said that during interrogation, they said that they had barged into the house of the senior civil judge, Larkana, Maneezar Ali, in Mubarak Colony on Nov 26 and decamped with jewellry and cash, and added that the looted gold was recovered from their homes by the police in the presence of the judge.

He said that the Bhittai Nagar police on Nov 25 arrested Haq Nawaz Brohi, Sikandar Brohi and Javed Leghari who were travelling in a car (A-1504). Arms and ammunition as well as one kilogram charas were recovered from their possession.

The police picked up Sheeraz Qureshi and Mohammad Anees Abro and recovered a pistol from their possession. The police also arrested Ghulam Rasool, Kidmat Ali, Imdad Ali and Ali Nawaz and recovered arms from their possession.
