KOHAT: A girl was killed allegedly by her cousin in the name of honor in Jungle Khel locality here on Tuesday.

According to police, the accused went to the house of his aunt and accused her daughter of adultery. Later, he pulled out his Kalashnikov and opened fire, killing the girl on the spot. Her body was taken to the KDA teaching hospital by the police from where it was handed over to relatives after autopsy.

The Jungle Khel police registered murder case on the complaint of the victim’s brother against the accused and started search for his arrest.

In another incident, unidentified persons killed a labourer named Mohammad Asghar in the labour colony of a textile mill. The motive behind the killing could not be known immediately.

The Riaz Mohammad Shaheed police registered case on the complaint of a watchman, Spen Badshah, against unknown assailants.

Meanwhile, Kohat police arrested three proclaimed offenders wanted in murder cases along with 33 suspects during an operation on Tuesday.

The police also seized huge quantity of weapons, including two Kalashnikovs, three rifles, two shotguns, four guns, six pistols and seven kilogrammes of hashish, from the suspects.

The three POs were named Sanjeed Khan, Mohammad Khan and Mohammad Bilal.
