KHAIRPUR, Dec 1: The Ali Nawaz Wah developed a 30-ft-wide breach at RD-109, near Faiz Ganj, on Sunday as a result of which five villages were flooded and wheat crops destroyed.

The five villages are Suleman Khoso, Dur Mohammad Kubar, Rafiq Arain, Shar, and Punjabi.

A social worker of the area told this correspondent that though the irrigation officials had been informed about the breach immediately, they arrived when all harm had been done.

However, the breach was plugged late in the night by the irrigation officials with the help of the villagers.

MAN DIES OF INJURIES: An unidentified man died in the Khairpur Civil Hospital late Sunday night.

The B-section police found the man in an injured state at the bypass and took him to the Civil Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.The cause of his injuries could not be ascertained.

He said this while addressing a ceremony held here at the Wassan House on Sunday to mark the Yaum-i-Tasees.He said that no party had been able to make its presence felt in Sindh.He said that PPP opponents had always faced defeat which was why Yaum-i-Tasees was necessary to celebrate. Manzoor Brohi, Zameer Shaikh and other party representatives also spoke on the occasion.
