QUETTA, Nov 29: Bambhoor Rifles Commandant Lt-Col Moin Qadir and a soldier were seriously injured in a landmine blast in Lunjo Saghari area of Sui Tehsil on Saturday.

“The official vehicle of the Frontier Corps official hit a landmine planted on the road at Lunjo Saghari near the Sindh border,” a Sui police official told Dawn.

“Lt-Col Qadir and a soldier, who was driving the jeep, were seriously injured,” he said and added that they were brought to the Combined Military Hospital here by a helicopter.

Sources said Lt-Col Qadir was going to Sui after spending Eid holidays.

Law-enforcement agencies have been carrying out an operation against outlaws in the area for the last four months.
