KARACHI: The inaugural Ebrahim Merchant Ranking Tennis Championship 2016 will commence at the impressive tennis courts of Karachi Club from Sunday, July 17.

The championship, named after country’s leading chartered accounted who expired last year, is set to be a well contested event as 120 plus entries have already been received for it.

Organisers Sindh Tennis Association (STA) have finalized the seedings for various events. Pakistan number one and Davis Cupper Aqeel Khan is top seed in mens singles event while Ibrahim Iltifat is seeded second. In Juniors 17 & under singles event, Talha Suhail is the top seed and Ebad Sarwar is second seed.

In the 15 & under singles, Amin Shafi is top seed with Zubair Raja is the second seed.

During the championship, an event for Special players as well as two events of soft tennis will also be contested with active support from Para Sports Pakistan and Pakistan Soft Tennis Association.
