DERA GHAZI KHAN, Nov 24: The local police on Monday arrested 13 people of two rival groups, including Eidgah custodian, to avert any untoward situation on Eid day.

A two-month-long controversy over the politicizing of the Eidgah by one religious group was set aside temporarily with the arrest of instigators of both the rival groups.

Representatives of both the groups were called out by the police for reconciliation, but they remained adamant. At this, police arrested six people of the occupant group — Fazaluddin, Zubair, Saifullah, Mian Abdul Rehman, Maulana Kamil and custodian Mufti Qazi Shamasuddin while seven of the dissident group — Jodat Kamran, Shahabuddin, Qazi Azeem, Kashif, Abdul Raheem, Dur Muhammad and Hafiz Siddique.
