LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams on Friday seized about 1,000kg of substandard chilli powder and 1,500 litres of uncertified mineral water in the areas of Akbari Mandi and Shera Kot.

A team, headed by PFA Director Ayesha Mumtaz, raided a chilli store in Akbari Mandi and recovered rice flour and husk that were kept there to mix with the chilli. The team also seized 1,000kg of substandard chilli powder and sealed the store. It also sealed Munawwar Sweets and Bakhtawar sweets for flouting hygiene standards.

The PFA officials in Data Ganj Bakhsh Town seized 1,500 substandard/uncertified mineral water that was being transported in a van. The officials sent water samples to lab tests. They sealed Bismillah Milk Shop and Bhola Sweets.

Samanabad, Allama Iqbal, Aziz Bhatti and Nishtar towns teams sealed Super Bakery, Hanif Bakery, Madina Sweets, Hajveri Catering, Krisco Bakers and imposed fine on Ismail Sweets and Shaukat Bakery.
