QUETTA, Nov 23: Balochistan would participate in the forthcoming Inter-Provincial Games scheduled to be held from Dec 18 in Lahore.

It was decided in a joint meeting of Balochistan Sports Board (BSB) and Balochistan Olympic Association here on Sunday. The Director-General BSB, Dr. Qasim Baloch, presided over the meeting.

The meeting decided that a contingent of 165 players and official would represent Balochistan in the Inter-Provincial Games.

It was also decided in the meeting that trials for the selection of players for 12 games would be held soon after Eid -ul-Fitr.

After the selection of the players, training and coaching camps would be conducted for the preparation to take part in all the 12 games.

Dr. Qasim Baloch assured the meeting that the board would extend all possible help and cooperation for sending players to Lahore for taking part in the inter-provincial games.

The meeting also decided that players would be selected purely on merit.

Balochistan would send its teams for all events, which include football, volleyball, athletics, cycling, karate, badminton, baseball, weightlifting, bodybuilding, gymnastics, swimming and wrestling.

Balochistan contingent would leave for Lahore by December 15.
