LONDON: Britain's Prince Charles visited Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at his London residence on Saturday and inquired about his health, the premier's daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif tweeted.

According to Maryam Nawaz, Prince Charles also brought honey from the gardens of Clarence House for the premier saying "it will help him recover fast as Pakistan needs him".

He also conveyed best wishes from British Queen Elizabeth for the prime minister's speedy recovery.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif thanked Prince Charles for the honey and told him that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said honey has healing properties, Maryam tweeted.

On Friday, King of Bahrain Sheikh Hammad Bin Isa Al Khalifa had conveyed his best wishes for PM's health.

Other leaders from across the globe have also sent their best wishes to the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after he went through a successful open-heart surgery on May 31.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi led all by sending flowers and wished a speedy recovery to nawaz Sharif on June 2.

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon was also quick to send a letter and convey his regards to the Pakistani head of state, followed by the Chinese PM.
