LAHORE, Nov 22: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal said here on Saturday that the country could be steered out of the prevailing crisis by implementing the constitutional package drafted by PML-Q Senator S.M. Zafar.

MMA leader Liaquat Baloch said in a statement that the ruling party and its allies, too, supported the MMA’s point of view on the LFO. But, he regretted, they could not dare express their opinion before Gen Musharraf.

Baloch, who is also provincial amir of the Jamaat-i-Islami, has called a meeting of Shoora for Nov 30.

New office-bearers would be elected at the meeting.

According to a press release, the meeting will also decide its strategy about the anti-government campaign to be launched after Eid.

CONFERENCE: The JI is holding an international conference here on Dec 6 and 7 to pay homage to its founder Maulana Maudoodi.

Delegates from Kuwait, Jordan, Yemen, Morrocco, the US, India, Nepal, UAE and Algeria will participate.
