LAHORE: Pakistan will defend their Asian Hockey Champions Trophy title in the Malaysian city of Kuantan with the fourth edition of the event to be held from Oct 20 to 30, it was announced on Sunday.

Two-time defending champions Pakistan will be one of the six teams taking part including hosts Malaysia, India, South Korea, Japan and China.

Pakistan have been finalists in all the last three editions with India winning the inaugural competition.

Kuantan has previously hosted the women’s Hockey World League Round-II and the Hockey Champions Challenge in 2014.

Although the event does not determine the continental rankings, but it will be included in the qualification system for future Olympic Games and World Cups.
