TIMERGARA: Adviser to chief minister MPA Fazal Ilahi Khan on Saturday claimed the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government had established rule of law, merit and transparency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing a public meeting here, he alleged the federal government was conspiring to degrade the PTI government in the eyes of people. Prime minister’s visit to different areas of the province is part of this conspiracy, he added.

He said the centre had yet to pay Rs58 billion to the province as its share in net hydel profit.

“Withholding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s due share is keeping the province deprived of its rights,” he said, adding the PTI-led coalition government had focused on institutionalisation of education, health, police and public health.

He said thana and patwari culture had been done away with.Scores of Awami National Party activists quit the party and announced to join the PTI on the occasion.

SCHOOL REBUILT: The Al-Khidmat Foundation on Saturday handed over the newly-reconstructed government Maktab primary school at Babakrai Rabat to the relevant officials.

The school, damaged in the last year’s earthquake, was reconstructed at a cost of Rs700,000. Over 150 students had been taking classes in the open.

On the occasion, the AKF disaster management cell president Fazal Mehmood said the foundation had supported hundreds of families affected by the last year’s earthquake.

The villagers said students of Babakrai had to travel more than two kilometers distance to get education after grade 3rd.

They demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to upgrade the Maktab school to government primary school so children could get education up to class 5th.
