LAHORE: Various religious outfits demonstrated outside mosques here on Friday in protest against the US drone attack in Balochistan that killed Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour a few days ago.

The demonstrations were staged outside Chauburji headquarters of the Jamaatud Dawa (JuD), Mansoora, Gulshan-i-Ravi, Rizvia Masjid in Gulberg, Chowk Daalgaran and other places by activists of the JuD, Jamaat-i-Islami, Sunni Ittehad Council, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) and Jamiat Ahle Hadith.

Carrying banners and placards, the protesters raised slogans against the United States (US) for violating international laws and Pakistan’s airspace.

Speaking to them, the religious leaders alleged that America was punishing Pakistan for US troops’ failure in Afghanistan against the Taliban and for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Declaring the Foreign Office’s protest against the attack as insufficient, they demanded banishing American ambassador from the country. The protesters also expressed their concerns at the Iran-India agreements, particularly the Chabahar port deal.
