Jamali orders renovation of Velodrome

ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Thursday directed Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) to repair, renovate and upgrade the cycling Velodrome in Lahore on modern lines.

A two-member committee has been constituted to look after the job comprising one member from PSb and one from Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

He was talking to winners of tour de Pakistan Cycle Race, Shahzada Muhammad Zahid Gulfam, Dilsher Ali and Sakhawat Ali Shah, who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House.

Jamali on this occasion congratulated the winners of Tour de Pakistan and awarded Cash prizes in recognition of the meritorious services for the cycling.

He appreciated the sportsmen and said that they represent a healthy recreational activity and admitted that health sports facilities were scarce in the country and the government was aware of this deficiency.—APP
