LAHORE, Nov 20: Pakistan Trade Union Defence Campaign President Chaudhry Manzur Ahmed MNA and Chaudhry Qamaruz Zaman Kaira MNA have moved a resolution in the National Assembly, calling for the repeal of Industrial Relations Ordinance 2002 and Removal of Service Ordinance.

The resolution not only seeks the repeal of the two controversial labour laws termed draconian by the trade unionists but also reinstatement of the workers terminated under the same with full benefits.

Regularization of services of the contract and workcharged labour engaged for jobs of permanent nature has also been sought through the resolution.

The two MNAs have also sought 100 percent increase in pay and allowances of government employees and workers on the pattern of the legislators through the resolution. —Reporter
